About 2005 until present I have been taking allergy shots due to the fact that I had minor allergies to cats and dust, and mostly because the doctor said that It could help me in the long run, but it wasn't required. I am due to come off the shots sometime in the late summer. Now, not knowing it was a problem, I have listed it in my medical exam form for Rotc. From what I've read it seems to be an automatic DQ. Its just a shame that something that I was told to do by my parents and my doctor to "help me" is going to keep me from ROTC. Is this truly an automatic DQ? And what are the chances of getting a waiver? Thanks for any and all help...

For a little different perspective check out my post on this thread:

I wrote it in regards to military physicians, but it really applies to any doctor.

To answer your questions better you need to contact Mr. Mullen whose contact information can be found throughout this subforum. Send him an email like he has directed the others.

there is a thread in here form me too about allergy shots...
My daughter stopped in September.. quit taking meds in January.. she was DQ'ed by DODMERB, then CGA and MMA... eventually both gave her waivers...

I took her to a MD and had her write a letter... then to her US Army Allergist and had her check my daughter out and she wrote a letter as well..

After all allergy shots can go 3-5 yrs... I thought it was 5, but the Dr. said 3-5!

Get in touch with MR Mullen.. her helped my daughter!

Thanks guys... and kp I wasn't holding anything against physicians...sorry if it came off that way... I'm just generally frustrated right now but hopefully Mr. Mullen can point me in the right direction for the waivers...
