Had to run by the office today, forgot something last night. Since I work on a Marine installation I had the privilege of saying "Merry Christmas Marine" to the young Lance Corporal on duty at the gate. As I proceeded to the office I was hit by the feeling of gratitude knowing that young marine and many like him are on duty this holiday all around the world, protecting us and the freedoms we enjoy. I will say a special prayer for him at church tonight, and his family, and for all the Marines, sailors, soldiers, and airmen who will be on duty during Christmas this year. I hope each of you will do the same. For some of us, next year will be the first year to have a son or daughter in uniform. With luck and four years of hard work, our youngsters will be the officers that these folks will look to for leadership. Let us all be thankful for what they do.

On the way home I thought about the fine young people we have met and tried to help on the forum, and their parents. Most are probably singing the same tune...

All I want for Christmas is a BFE, a BFE, a BFE.
All I want for Christmas is a BFE, from the academy!

Merry Christmas to everyone. Hug your candidate and if you get the chance wish a serviceman or woman, "Merry Christmas".

Answered prayer

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. Christmas Eve the mailman left a special package ... and then ran before any of the stalkers saw him. The BFE has arrived. DS received an Offer of Appointment to USNA!!!

Prayers have been answered. :thumb:
