Almost There

Yeah, I feel that way too. I don't believe I will be satisfied doing something "normal," but it is terrifying. I have no military personnel in my close family. I am relying on friends to understand what to expect from my new life.

Thank you for the insight! I've always done very well in a structured environment, and during my high school process, really set my sights on USNA. As you said, I know there will be difficulties to come (if I am fortunate enough to receive an Appointment), but I truly believe it's the right place for me.
Then make that commitment and go for it!!

Like I told my son. Your joining the greatest military ever on the face of the earth. Be proud and do it! You will do great, lean on your midshipment mates when times get tough. Just remember NEVER give up. :thumb:

I'm getting so excited about it that I keep having to remind myself to enjoy senior year (despite a sleep-depriving workload)... USNA has just been the focus of my day-dreams for too long and the cause of a few late, worried nights. The next chapter of our lives will be interesting..

I found myself doing the same thing during class today, and a bit during football practice. I'm so excited for this portion to come, but have to remember to savor these last months of high school. I really feel once we hit Christmas, we'll be graduating high school before you know it.
