When is time for ALO to submit his interview result? After 1st interview, the 2nd interview, or after visit the school or neighborhood? How does it work out? Thanks.

I am sure CC and flieger will post on what they do as ALOs.

I will say for our DS, the ALO did not submit their rec until end of Sept. He took the summer to get to know all of the candidates. Met with our DS and all of his candidates @ 4-5 times. Took him to a Daedalian dinner, worked with him on his essays, etc. Contacted us via phone right before he submitted to do an informal interview with us.

I recall that it was the end of Sept., because he remarked he wanted his file to be complete, including his rec. before the 1st board met, which was the Monday after Columbus day, and wanted to verify that DS had applied for all 3 MOCs which closed out 9/30.

Once a prospective candidate fills out the required amount of paperwork online, (depending on the qualifications of the student) the assigned ALO will receive a message that it is time to do the interview and file the ALO paperwork. It is actually a small window of time (couple of weeks as I remember) from notification till the paperwork is due...sometimes a bit of a time crunch requiring help from another ALO due to schedule conflicts.

A more current ALO will post the actual timeline, but I will say a lot happens in a short amount of time.

To quote a favorite movie of mine, sorta taking very liberal use...

"When will you make an end of it?"

"When I am finished."

The ALO is given a date that the "AF Form 4060" (USAFA CANDIDATE EVALUATION - Online Form 4060) must be submitted to USAFA. I will tell you that the date changes based upon how far along the CANDIDATE is in their completion of their work.

Currently my candidates are all "due" in Feb 2014. Why so long? Because none of my candidates has really even started their packages. And yes, they've all received "calls and e-mails" from this ALO!

As soon as they get busy...and start knocking out the forms, requirements, etc., then those dates will be pulled in. I've seen a "6 months out" date change to "due in 2 weeks" overnight because a candidate "got busy!"

And as for "after how many interviews..." I have never written a 4060 after 1 or 2 interviews...I usually meet with the candidate, and their parents, and school teachers/coaches/counselors, etc...3-6 times to really "get to know" the candidate.

Then I start writing...

Ditto. (How's that for my shorted post ever?)

Thank you all for your reply and help. Is it always required for the ALO to visit teacher/coach/counselor or it depends on individual ALO? Will the ALO interview help schedule the medical exam earlier?
