Hello all, so I have had the lovely joy of managing to sprain the same ankle three times, including a growth plate fracture the first time. I was seen by a doctor each time, and no action other than rest it and ice it. The third time I also completed physical therapy, to strengthen the nearby muscles.

    1. Has anyone ever had experiences with similar injuries being cause for a DQ?

    2. I now often wear an ankle brace during physical activity, would this be an issue at an academy/ROTC?

Thank you very much for your help!

I also have sprained my ankles on multiple occasions because of soccer. I wear ankle braces every time I play soccer or run on non-flat surfaces. I reported everything to Dodmerb and I passed the test, but I knew that I probably wouldn't have time to put on braces everyday at the academy so I am currently in pt to strengthen my ankles to the point where I can get through basic training without braces.
I was told that some midshipmen wear braces during basics. They wore theirs to sleep at night to avoid wasting time in the morning putting it on.
