Hi I was wondering if I am able to bring to BCT a small ankle brace that raps around the base of my leg and ankle. I sprained my ankle a little while ago and wanted to prevent any further injury.

You should be fine to bring it and wear it as long as you can still wear your boots properly.

That's actually tough question to answer. They really want you to show up healthy. If you do bring your brace, they will ask you if you need it. You need to answer honestly.

The Basic boots they issue you actually have very good ankle support, so you may not even need the brace while wearing those (which you would be doing in Jack's Valley while running the courses.)

They do like you to be healthy, but if you have it in your backpack, I seriously doubt anyone will ask about it. Also, while the boots do have pretty good ankle support, I know during 1st BCT you will probably wearing athletic shoes quite a bit.

If you cannot run without the brace, bring it. I had to wear ankle braces in the athletic shoes due to pronating ankles (basic issue boots -- not rocky's, etc -- have plenty of support).

Bring them in your bag, buy them at the cadet store, or ask the clinic for a brace (which is what I recommend). You'll be fine as long as it doesn't interfere with what the cadre require of you.
