Hello, my name is Derek and I am from Michigan as well. I have applied for a NROTC and AROTC scholarship. I have been watching these boards for the past few months and decided that I should become a member. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and wish everyone luck now that this AROTC board selection just ended!

RKO, where are you hoping/planning to use your N or A (Army?) ROTC scholarship?
My son was awarded the NROTC scholarship to Notre Dame. We went to visit three times (about a 7 - 8 hour drive). Each time, he liked the NROTC folks better but liked the school less.
Both were also offered the full-tuition Army ROTC to Lafayette.
Over the Christmas break, we discussed how much stress was on them two years ago as they waded through their offers, FinAid, etc. Both said they were very glad to have chosen USAFA.

I live in St. Joseph, Michigan...a city approximately a half hour to 40 minutes from Notre Dame. It certainly is a beautiful campus...a major college with a smaller feel. It's a great school...but I don't think it's for me. My number one school for both my Army and Navy ROTC scholarship is Embry-Riddle. It's my dream school and I really hope I get it. I did not apply for any academies, however I did live in Colorado Springs for 4 years and I have never seen anything quite as impressive as USAFA.
