Has there been any specualtion as to which bowl the Commander-in-Trophy winners are headed too?

I am hoping it is on the East Coast, so I can go, but if not in the east, maybe a roadtrip will be in order.

Bowl Game

Rumor has it that the Falcons are heading to the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, LA. I'm guessing we will hear this week.

You won't hear this week. Air Force isn't an independent. They are in a conference. As such, the Mountain West Conference has automatic tie ins to certain bowls. E.g. Conference champion goes to the Vegas Bowl; #2 Normally goes to the Poinsettia bowl. (They WON'T let air force go to this, because Navy has an invite, and they WON'T allow a rematch). 3rd can be selected to the independence in Louisiana, or even back to the armed forces bowl. The armed forces is open to who they invite. There's also the New Mexico bowl.

Until our season is over, and we see how IF our conference champion (TCU) goes to a BCS bowl, or even the National Championship, we won't know who goes to vegas, poinsettia, etc...

CHANCES ARE:
TCU: National Championship OR BCS Bowl.
Utah: Vegas
SDSU: Poinsettia
Air Force: Independence
BYU: New Mexico Bowl.

However, If TCU is left out of the BCS bowls, because Boise State gets it, then move everything down 1 notch. We will know for sure at the end of week-12.

I guess there is quite a bit of money in bowl games for the colleges but I really wish they had a "National Championship" bowl.

Of course, despite last week, the Steelers will be winning the SUPER BOWL in 2011. :shake:

They Do...Its the BCS National Championship Game...which replaced the rotation of the National Championship game between the 4 BCS bowls (Orange, Sugar, Rose, Fiesta) a few years ago.
