If I get a 3 on an AP exam (English in particular), according to the USMA website, it doesn't look like it will help me validate anything. But will a 3 result in me being placed in a higher level class?

Don't you need 4 or 5 to pass AP exam?

    No, a 3 is a passing score. Only a 1 and a 2 are failing.

Chances are, everyone will be in harder classes than they had previously taken no matter how they scored on an AP exam. You don't learn by making things easier. If the core class proves too easy/you are doing too well, they would likely resection you to a higher section (same general class, just different pace/perspective). If the English class is too difficult, you'll drop down and/or be sent for AI or learning support.

A recommendation to make these final months of freedom and a good majority of your career go easier: Stop worrying about minutiae details from what might or might not happen as a result of something else that hasn't happened yet.***
