Could a current cadet please shed some light on supermaxing the APFT? I understand that 71 pushups, 78 situps, and a sub 13:00 2 mile run are the regular maxes for males but if I did, lets just say, 80 pushups, 90 situps, and a 12:30 2 mile is that sufficient to supermax? Or do you have to hit a new threshold? If there is a new threshold, do you have to hit it in all 3 events to supermax, and if so, what are said thresholds?

To supermax for a male, it takes 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, and an 11:30 2 mile I believe.
I'm a girl, so for us it takes 70 pushups, 100 sit-ups, and a 13:30 2 mile to supermax.

Thank you for your reply Kelley,

Does that mean no additional points are awarded for doing more pushups/situps if you can't get to 100? Or do you still get additional points for additional pushups/situps even if you can't get 100, and 100 is just the absolute maximum that you can do and still be awarded points? Thank you!

100 is the absolute maximum that will give you a score of 375 if you super max all 3 events. However, you can still earn a score over 300 if you reach the max. level for each event. For example, my last APFT I did 70 pushups and 90 sit-ups, to have a grand total of 346 for my score.
