Sorry to bother everyone again. Now that my app has been done and I'm just waiting, time seems to go by even slower.
I have a rather odd, in-depth question I'm not sure anyone will know a definite answer to.
As of January 6, 2014, my application is complete. I'll provide a rough timeline:
November - December
- Completed all components of the app except the CFA (due to a football season and playoffs)
- Received a principal nomination, uploaded December 3
January
- The CFA was completed, and uploaded January 6.
I have not received a LOA.
My question is: with a principal nomination, and a timeline as described above, would USNA be prompted, on 1/6/14 (the completed package date) to review my package and make a decision? I have been told by individuals that due to the principal nom, I may receive notice of a decision as early as two weeks from packet complete. If anyone could provide insight into this, that would be great.
Another minor question: I'm taking a combination AP Calc BC and AP Physics course (most difficult course in the school taught by the most difficult/advanced math teacher). I've had nearly all A's with a few B's in all AP courses throughout Junior year. This year, I again have all A's, 1 B in the rest of my AP courses. However, I'm currently pulling a C in the Physics/Calculus course. I fully intend on bringing both classes' grades up, but I have always struggled with this particular teacher. As of my initial transcript submission, Physics was an A and Calc was a C (very wacky grading system). I may be totally overreacting, but does this impact my chances at all? I have very strong SAT's, ACT's, a top 5 class rank, as well as plenty of athletics and ECA's.
I truly apologize for the long-windedness, and I think I'm getting anxious about a trivial item. If anyone could offer any insight at all, it would be much appreciated. Also, it would be great to talk to any candidates for the Class of 2018, just to keep me sane.
Thank you everyone!
