When does the portal open for the class of 2020 applications. Wow wouldn't that be a neat year group to be in.

You can do the online questionnaire as Rogers said. It's quite brief. After you complete it it tells you if you are competitive or not.

Does anyone know if they are giving people admissible status(I heard that this is a status better than competitive) yet since the questionnaire covered so little? It basically just asked for my test and class rank along with a few other very, very ambiguous questions. I think one of them was like, "Have you received an award?"

I've never heard admissible status so I can't really say but if it is a thing, I'd assume you'd have to be what is called a no brainer around these parts of the forums. I wouldn't focus on that though. As long as you are competitive, your ball is in the court. Heck, even if you are not competitive it's still in the court. I started out not competitive. Brace yourself now, It's all a waiting game. Waiting for things to open, waiting for scores, waiting for results and nominations. It's a roller coaster.

My DD is deemed competitive and the portal states that she will receive further instructions in July. The portal suggests to do the following:

    1. Request a congressional nomination. Nomination deadlines vary. Some congressional deadlines are as early as the 1st of October.
    2. Check your status at: https://admissions.usafa.edu/gateway/gateway.aspx.
    3. If you haven't already done so, download and read the PCQ booklet from the link located in your online application. The booklet contains valuable information regarding nominations, the Candidate Fitness Assessment,
    timelines, etc.
    4. Take or retake the ACT/SAT; we'll use your highest scores.
    5. Continue taking challenging academic courses and participating in extracurricular activities.
    6. Prepare for your Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA).
    7. Contact your Admissions Liaison Officer (ALO) and says she can call her admissions counselor in the admissions office.
    8. Review our catalog at http://www.academyadmissions.com

Her letter also said that if she is interested in flying high tech, high performance aircraft, then she would be interested in the following. The
majority of each class will have the opportunity to attend Undergraduate Flight Training. This means that virtually
every cadet who wants to fly and is medically qualified to do so will have that opportunity upon graduation.

And yes, LDH, 2020 sounds like a great year group! Let the roller coaster ride begin!

For a re-applicant, do we use the same username and portal file or do we need to start on a completely new slate? Also, just fyi for other reapplicants, I was told by a DODMERB official at a SA forum in TX that our DODMERB is good for two years.

Just for Clarity's sake, My Questions are for a young man we are are Mentoring, My Daughter-In Law's Brother. (Which as an aside if anyone knows does that make him a son-in-law sorta?) He has gotten a Summer session, we have to assume he is competitive.
