Hello wise forum members,

DS has submitted all three parts of the application, essay and LOR's are also in already. (for class of 2017) He is working on his nomination stuff too.

When does the Candidate Review Board start the review process?

Thanks, this forum is so very helpful!

For the selection of class 2015, I think the first review was to be around September 12th-ish. However if I remember right ( big if) it was delayed a week or two for some in-house or staffing reason.
You are way ahead in the game :thumb: keep in mind every single update needs to be submitted as well as they occur. Selection as Captain of a varsity team, a community award, resubmission of SAT or ACT scores ( very important as they superscore). If you are working with a varsity coach they also may know when the first review may be.
Good luck!

I believe a really good candidate can get picked up early but a super fantastic one my not get picked up late. I mean the longer it goes in the admission cycle the harder it is to get in. That was our thought but it is only a guess.
Good luck!

Thanks Lynpar,

Good to know. Maybe I can relax a bit (ha ha)

DS is in communication with the swim coach already too!

I really appreciate all the posters on this forum. It brings some peace of mind to me during this agonizing process.

Has your DS arranged an overnight visit? Coach can help him with that as well. The overnight visit can also serve as an interview of sorts. Lots of debate on the forum about that, look it up. ( is it or isnt it? Unofficial interview? What to wear for unofficial- not really an interview- but treat it like one anyway - interview) In our case , DS is good on paper but great in person ( that just may be a mom opinion) but having the opportunity to hand deliver something for the application package was a fun thing for my DS. We got the airfare for him for his 18 birthday, that is all he wanted. That trip truely paid off I believe if not in the admissions process than in the process of DS deciding KP was really what he wanted.

We are planning on an overnight in early November. I want DS to be sure KP is the place for him too. My nephew is a 2007 KP grad so DS has been fully informed of what to expect. But still, DS needs to be sure for himself.

Happy Camper,
Have your DS request that he shadow a swim team member. I don't believe he will be able to participate in the swim team practice but he will be able to observe and meet team members. PM if you have specific questions.
