Hi all,
My son had his AROTC interview on Jan 22. His application is still showing interviewee. Does it normally take that long to change? Should he follow up with the person he interviewed with?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. I took my interview in October and it didn't update from Interviewee to Board Ready until mid-demcmber. Make sure everything else is done though so that as soon as the interview shows up he is ready.

Everything else is complete. Thank you. Will try to be patient! The person that interviewed him had said something about the board deciding in May and not hearing until June. But I know the AROTC board is meeting late February. That is the only reason I was worried, that maybe he wasn't planning to submit it right away.

They usually say up to 5 business days to get it sorted. Don't worry about it. It stays at board ready until someone hits an arbitrary switch down in Kentucky. Mine took about 2 weeks to reflect the changes.

I think the guy's talking about their brigade level board. Can I ask what school your DS interviewed at?

His interview was at Campbell University. That was the closest choice that they sent. His interviewer was very nice. Said DS was a very strong candidate and that he had the highest ACT score of the 30 interviews he had done.

I will feel better when his status changes to board ready. DS has done all he can do at this point. Now we wait. The hard part.

Well good luck to him. Know that the wait is terrible, but as someone who is still waiting, it gets better.

One thing, I think the recruiting officers tend to be ultra positive with cadets they want to go to their school, so I would take anything they say after the interview with a grain of salt. (Just my two cents.)
