Application Timeline, Appears we are too late?

Along with the spreadsheet, you might want to invest in a file tote to drag with you around. DD was driving me nuts with all the paperwork hanging out on the kitchen counter, so the tote was a back-to-school gift! I attached a picture of her file tote. Of course, for impression management, I put the Service Academy Forums file up front for you all to see. Occasionally I will print out a posting for future reference. ;)

One of the problems dd had was remembering all the passwords & userids, so she wrote them on the front of each file along with status updates from the portals. Also, add ACT/SAT/AP files too along with the Common Application, which might be handy. The nomination packets are tucked in the back of the tote in big yellow envelopes, waiting for all the teacher references. The essays are slow going, but fortunately, the 1st month in her AP Eng Lit class, they write college application and scholarship essays that the teacher will review. (Lucky for me).

Much to the recruiter's credit at dd's high school, he recommended the academies in addition to ROTC. However, she mistakenly went to the Army enlistment website to register for ROTC. Hah... she had all kinds of interesting emails and phone calls.

Best wishes for the journey.
Thank you Midwest, based on your reply my wife is purchasing a tote today with folders, that is a great idea. And I created folders lastnight for my daughter to keep in her school bag in case something should come up at school. She printed out the Physical Assessment card last night (Army ROTC) and she tucked it into her school folder and schedule an assessment with the campus designee. You guys are all the greatest, thanks for the many replies and I am so glad we found this forum.

Like the others said above me, I too tried for NROTC and they assigned me a local MC recruiter who tried to get me to go enlisted MC Reserves, then do the PLC program to become an officer. I wasn't too interested in that route.

I'm now a sophomore in AFROTC on a 3.5 year in-college scholarship. Im a Criminal Justice major, and I got the scholarship last semester. So there is hope for your daughter to get one in college! I can't speak for how the Army/Navy do it, but should she decide to do Air Force and as long as your she has the minimum criteria for it (look on AFROTC.com), her cadre will automatically compete her for scholarship.

And look into the Air Force's total force initiative. Since the Active Duty force us shrinking, AFROTC cadets are getting opportunities to go reserve or air guard. Something to ponder on. Feel free to DM with any questions. Good luck to you guys!
