Hey, everybody. A few quick questions.
1. Is it possible to apply for direct entry to another SA while attending prep school? For example, a cadet attends USAFAPS for a year and applies to USMA along with USAFA.
2. Will attendance to another SA's prep school increase the chances of getting the appointment?

Current and former cadets, I would like to hear your opinion.

Thank you.

Obviously, it's not impossible to apply. However, I would imagine that people -- including your BGO/ALO and MOC nom committees -- would seriously question why you spent the taxpayer's money to attend a prep school for a particular academy but did not/don't want actually to attend that SA. Nor would I imagine that the other SAs would look favorably on this scenario.

If you don't really want to attend a particular academy, please don't waste their time and taxpayer money taking a slot from someone who does. If your true desire is another SA to which you weren't offered a prep program, go to a civilian school and reapply.

Of course, this does not apply to "self prepsters" -- those candidates paying their own way to a prep school with the hopes of increasing their chances for admission upon reapplying.

It certainly is possible. My roommate at the USAFA prep school applied to West Point and USAFA and ended up attending West Point.
