applying as a 4/c cadet from another academy?

As for the "you're taking the slot of someone else", well maybe they should have gone the extra length that I went in order to get that appointment.

No offense, but that is a pretty cocky statement. There are plenty of people who did not receive appointments who were just as good as you. It is not "the extra length" that was the issue to those who weren't accepted but the sheer fact that there were only 290 appointments available. The point is, there are people who are on the wait list right now who are just as qualified as you and who are willing to be at the USCGA for four years, no matter what occupation they are given at the end of those four years. It has been said by an Admissions member, Objee, on this board that those who complete a year at an academy and then apply to another one show a lack of full commitment. And it is not fair to those on the wait list, hoping and praying for that one spot to open up, for someone like you to take their dream from them, and not even potentially complete the four years. My opinion is that it would honestly be better for you to go to a civillian school and apply for USAFA that way. Now, if you're willing to do any job, and pilot is just the first on your list, then that sounds good to me. Having dreams and wanting a certain career is good, but sometimes we all don't get what we want and not everything happens the way we want it to. And who knows? I had a cadre last swab summer that wanted to be a pilot when he first entered the USCGA and now he only wants to be a Deck Watch Officer.

You would be better off going AFROTC and reapplying to USAFA next year.

I would have serious doubts about someone who accepted one Service Academy, bailed, and tried to get into a different one the next year--looking at it from an admissions perspective.
