I'm still interested in applying for outside scholarships to pay off the necessary costs of being a student at a service academy. However, I feel like my status as an appointee hurts my chances of receiving scholarships since my education is already paid for.
And for that I have a two questions:
1) How do I go about applying for scholarships in my current situation? Is it worth the effort when I know there are students who need the money more?
2) Where does the money go if I should be awarded a scholarship? (If someone could attach the thread that addresses this, that'd be helpful- I did see it somewhere)
