Hi everybody,
There's nothing that I want more than to go to United States Naval Academy. But in case I don't get in, I have applyed for an NROTC scholarship and if I attend a civilian college under the scholarship, would it be possible for me to re-apply to USNA? Is the scholarship binding once I accept it?

I'm not absolutely positive, but I'm pretty sure that you apply for the NROTC scholarship yearly to renew it so you only are committed to the scholarship for one year. So it would be possible to apply to the Naval Academy the next year. But like I said I'm not totally positive if that is how it works you may want to get someone to back it up. I'm in the same situation though, I'm applying to the Naval Academy and as a back up, NROTC. Good luck with your applications!

Let me break it down to you, well your freshman phase is called trial phase so you are not legally binded to the United States Navy. So if you get said scholarship apply for USNA again. But you will have one shot, then when you come back from summer training you are binded..(I think so for the Navy). I think it's great. And with freshman year you work your but off and get the nomination from your NROTC commander and get into the big boys club(USNA). See ya later, sir.

It's totally doable.
My youngster was a NROTC cadet at Tech. He did one year and applied again for USNA and then came here.
