Appointment Question

I asked this question on the appointment thread but maybe it is better in it's own thread. I am going crazy! My son has been given the principal nomination by our congressman and we know that he is triple qualified. Is an appointment guaranteed at this point? Our congressman said it was but we haven't seen anything posted on his Navy site and I am not sure that the congressman has even sent in his nominations to the academy yet. I want to give him a Navy sweatshirt for Christmas. Anyone have an idea about the process from here? Things are such a mystery. We have never been through anything quite like this before. We've been very excited but still cautious.

Thanks for any insight!

If your son is triple Q'ed and has a principal nom, yes he is guaranteed an appointment. I'm guessing the reason you haven't heard is that the MOC hasn't submitted his/her slate to USNA (MOCs have until Jan. 31 to do so) and thus USNA doesn't yet know he has the principal nom. Or, the MOC just submitted it and USNA hasn't processed everything yet.

Hopefully, you'll hear soon. Congratulations.

Thanks

Many thanks! That is what we have read but being new to the process we just weren't sure. We will post his appointment to the thread when we see the blue folder.
