About two weeks ago I had an interview with my BGO, since naval academy is my plan B. He stated that if I receive an appointment from an academy accept it within three days, or you may lose it because it is going to be passed onto someone else.

I was wondering if this is true? Any comments would be helpful! Thank you!

No. If you receive an appointment it will have a date in which you must accept your appointment by. If you do not respond by the specified date your appointment could be given to someone else. Not sure why your BGO is giving that info, but your appointment letter will specify the date.

Awesome! Thank you! He just said that I should accept it within 3 days, the thing is if I get an appointment from the naval academy before I hear from my number one, the Air Force academy, I wanted to wait it out. Thank you!

If you run into this scenario and haven't heard from USAFA when the deadline comes, you can accept your appointment to USNA and then decline after you get word from USNA. Each SA accepts more than their target number for this reason. They also have a wait list for a reason.

Bottom line ensure you want to be in the USN first. Don't just accept an appointment because it's a SA. Really research and ensure its a service you can see yourself in before taking this path.
