    Hello Everybody,

I am very excited to be attending the April Academy Experience program this week. I feel that it will help solidify my college decision so that I can accept my appointment to USCGA. However I had a few questions.

Is there anything that we specifically need to bring? Should I pack an air mattress? Should I bring work out clothes?

Will we have access to the Coast Guard Academy book store to buy apparel?

And does anybody have any tips on how to get the most out of the experience?

I'm pretty set on the Coast Guard Academy. I think that this experience will only make certain of that. Thank you in advance for any enlightenment that you guys can provide about preparing for the visit.

No air mattress needed.. You will be given a bunk or cot. Bring work out/PT clothes (just in case you have the opportunity) although you may not need them

Yes, you will have plenty of access to the Exchange to buy apparel.

Go with an open mind and ask lots of questions. You will likely be paired with a 4/C (Freshman) who is just nearing the end of a really tough year.

If you haven't already, see if you can meet the coach of the sport you are interested in playing. Always great to make those contacts.

Again, ask lots of questions! Enjoy your visit.

Also, you will be attending classes. Wear "business casual" clothing so you don't look too "relaxed".
