Game tickets secured! Driving in Friday night. Are there activities before the game?

Thanks! :jump1:

Do some searching on other A-N threads, and keep an eye on www.navysports.com for Army-Navy Game 2016 Fan Guide. It wasn't up yesterday when I checked.

It's a bit different than when it is at it's usual home in Philly.

Friday night there will likely be the Army-Navy Boxing Smoker. Last time, it was at the Balt Convention Center. I think tickets are required but can't recall.

There will probably be a pep rally somewhere downtown.

You can check the Naval Academy Alumni Assn sites for their catered tailgater.

Since it's at an NFL Stadium, those rules apply for what you can take in, sizes of wristlets/tiny hand bags, required clear plastic bags, etc.

This article describes the tradition both SA's have for running the game ball (by the respective marathon teams) from Annapolis/West point to the stadium . I think that CBS, who is covering the game, should do a special on it. My favorite pic is of the Iraqi War vet helicopter pilot.

Thanks! All of us are looking forward to the game. I'll be sitting in between my son who leans towards West Point currently and my old sea dog retired husband. Ha!

If you go to a Rite Aid or CVS and buy your cheap plastic rain ponchos now, that should guarantee no rain for us all! I have sweated at A-N, and I have been precipitated upon by a full range of cold wet stuff. Be prepared to manage your weather gear!

I learned at one particularly rainy game that water-repellent is not the same as water-proof.

I have managed to get one of those runnner's reflective blankets into my clear plastic NFL-spec bag. Good for mummy mode. Parkas with utility pockets are also handy.

It is certainly time to break out your Bill the Goat headgear or WP spirit attire.

The parking in Baltimore is scattered throughout a variety of private lots in the neighborhood. Plan on lots of walking. That's why people book into hotels nearby.

The Brigade and Corps March Ons are usually well before game time, so there is quite a lag

I was watching a youtube video a few days ago of a "drum-off'? or whatever between the Army band drum line and the Navy band drum line from 2014.....

Navy's drum line starts playing at about the 5 minute mark. The competition attracted quite a crowd.

Apparently they do this every year, as other years are on youtube also.

The Alumni Association "Tailgate" is great. I highly recommend it as the food is fantastic and a lot of fun whatever venue they choose to hold it. It is also good if you are getting there somewhat early and it is a cold day (We froze one year & had regular jackets another) or god forbid snowing or raining. Sitting in the stadium for a couple of hours prior to the game and the march on can be miserable. Never used the Bus from Naval Academy but it sounds like a good deal if that would be your choice. Baltimore has a great Metro System from outlying hotels and you can check the maps for hotels near the stations if you are coming in a day or two early. You can stay in some nice Hotels in Hunt Valley or by the airport and take the Light Rail to the game or the Tailgate easily. Just remember if the President will be there the security lines will be long. We missed March On one year because the lines were so long but we could see it on a large screen while we waited.

Two Questions: (1) When you say "Game tickets secured," do you mean that you have actually received your tickets ? It is when those go out that people like me start looking for a couple to purchase (i.e., Stubhub). (2) Does anyone know the corner in which the Midshipmen will be seated (so I don't purchase a couple of seats above the Cadets) ? Thanks.

(2) Recommend calling Navy ticket office for Brigade seating area.

Navysports.com has a ticket marketplace. It also has ticket office number. I'd post it for you but am on the fly.
