How long before kickoff do the MIDS and Cadets typically march onto the field ? Taking Father-in-law ('56) and future wannabe MID (DD) to game. Trying to determine whether to do the Alumni tailgate. Don't want to miss the big stuff for the kid to see. Any other pre-game traditions (activities) that are a must see, we are all ears.
Thanks

It is normally about 3 hours before the game. Army-Navy website has it listed to take place between 1130-1230.
Both sides marching on/off takes about 1.5 hours, then there is the pre-game festivities (i.e. Leap Frogs, Golden Knights, football being ran onto the field, prisoner exchange, National Anthem, etc -- all of this follows the march-ons) that drains about another 1-1.5 hrs, so when said and done -- it all begins about 3 hours prior.

Hope this helps.

If you want to see the march-on and it's at all cold outside, DRESS WARMLY. Standing/sitting in the stands for 3+ hours before the game even starts . . . dress warmly. FedEx is a big, open stadium, and DC in December can be quite cold.

Of course, those lucky enough to have Club seats can go inside and get toasty warm.:shake:

Those not familiar with FedEx should carefully review transportation options which should be available from the Academies (included with tickets) and the FedEx website. The stadium is NOT walking distance from the Metro. They should have transfer buses available but check ahead on availability and cost. Driving to the stadium can be a nightmare so, again, plan ahead.

Already booked for a ride on the Navy Alumni bus for the very reason you stated....the walk. Even got Father-in-law a disablity tag to hang from rearview (long over due) so on Fraiday and Sunday we get upclose parking on the Yard and in town.
