I am an uncontracted MSI Cadet and my battalion is sending me, one contracted MSII, and one uncontracted MSII to CIET this summer. I have been told that I am going to be contracted or will receive a three year scholarship next year, but "on record" I have only been told that I am being considered. I am just wondering #1 what the criteria to be sent to CIET is, as I am not the only uncontracted MSI in my battalion, and am unsure why I am being sent and not another perhaps more capable cadet. I am also curious as to what to expect once I am there. What goes on, what do we do there, and is there anything I need to mentally prepare for?

Congratulations! I think you may have better luck asking the leadership of your battalion these questions than an anonymous forum. If you've been "told" that you'll receive a 3 year scholarship, even off the record, that's probably why you're going to CIET. As to what to do? Have you gone to field training with your battalion? Labs? If you have, then you know what to do, pay attention, work hard what you put in, will be what you get out. One more thing, nip that "more capable cadet" selftalk in the bud, that will get you nowhere.

Fair amount of down time, you will get yelled at by the drill sgts. Food bad, barracks hotter than heck, free time limited and movement very restricted. Other than that DS said it was fun!! ;)

Marini, search CIET on here, and go back to posts from 2015 - lots of info of people reporting what CIET was like last year. Good luck!
