Army ROTC Hopeful

I was wondering about a couple things...the first is my chances of a 4 year scholarship to Santa Clara University.

I have 650 crit reading 580 math and 650 writing. I also have a GPA of 3.4 and was on honor roll every semester in high school. For leadership I was captain of my club soccer team for five years and helped us become ranked in the top 40 teams in the nation. I was also captain of my varsity soccer team my senior year. I was a senior belt in Tae Kwon Do. I worked at Safeway for three summers and was well liked by managers. I also participated in a lot of community service. If someone could give me an estimate of my chances that should be great.

Also,
I had all my application information into Cadet Command before the October board but got an email from a week before saying that my PFT scores were not received but it was said that they were. So is it possible that I was on the October board or that I will be in the December one because my PMS said that the November board was canceled. If you could please let me know that would be great thanks!

I cannot speak to your chances at SCU. The only one who could would be the PMS there. I think it is a good idea to write and express why you want to be a part of their battallion and that school. I know that we have had one battallion pull my daughter's app after a few emails asking questions about their program and expressing interest in their battallion. He did indicate that he would advocate for her with regards to the scholarship. I think if she were not well qualified, he probably would have been honest about it, as he has been very candid with all questions asked.

With regards to Cadet Command, the best approach when there is conflicting information, is to write another email, clearly indicate what communication you've received with what message (I received letter in mail dated X that said PFT was missing. Website said PFT was received on Y date. Received email saying PFT was missing on Z date. PFT was mailed/faxed in on D date. Please re-check your records and advise me if you have my PFT on file.)

And if nothing else, I hope you kept a copy. This is a lesson you will learn very quickly in the Army - keep copies of everything.

Fax it to Cadet Command again. Email Cadet Command to confirm receipt 2 days later.

Yes I have recently talked to the PMS at SCU and he has told me that I am one of his top candidates and that he has seen how hard I have been working to make sure that I receive the scholarship. I will be before the December 4th board hopefully. Thank you for your help.

Haha I'm liking the title of this thread. Anyways from what I've read from collegeconfidential.com you are a match for scu, maybe even a safety.
