Army ROTC March 2013 Board

All updates that I have seen were made on 22 or 23 MAR.

There are also several applicants that still only have pending scholarship offers (alternate list) that do not yet have a date and control number attached. All of these are 3yr AD Scholarships. They will be awarded on a rolling basis as offers are declined.

Do they always have an alternate list?

Well, back on here waiting to see the boards light up again. DS did not earn a scholarship from the last board and we are awaiting the results of this one.

Quick Question: If DS was not awarded a National Scholarship, will his status change to reflect that he did not receive one or will it remain the same until all the alternates have been notified, perhaps going all the way into May?

Plan B has already been put into place. Deposit made on #1 choice school and getting ready to register for orientation. DS has been in contact with ROO at his #1 school and plans to participate in their program. Getting a scholarship would only be the icing on the cake!

If your son does not receive a scholarship from this board the status page won't change right away, he would receive a letter sometime in May. There may be a chance of getting one of the 3 year AD scholarships depending on how many decline the scholarships.

Sounds like he is being very proactive with a Plan B, that's good.

Best of luck.

March 2013 Army Board

Has anyone actually seen an acceptance on thier status yet?

If so what are the Numbers ? Sats?

Still Waiting

I haven't seen anything yet.

Has anyone seen any results posted yet on the status website?

Just checked, still nothing [in the status thread]
Seriously? What a difference from two years ago, when the last board resulted in over a dozen posts about status changes showing scholarships.

Marist, are you sure that 3rd Board scholarship status changes have all been posted, excepting the alternates you mentioned?

*edit* oh, I reread all this... it seems you probably mean that all updates were made to CCIMS by 22 or 23 MAR, and that does not necessarily mean that those status changes were linked to the Applicant Status page in real time.

Call AROTC at school

I suggest you call the Recruiting Officer at the AROTC unit at one of the schools listed on your application. They have access to the results.

The schools may have access to results but they may not be able to confirm anything. For example, my DS' portal changed after the Jan board to reflect that he had been awarded a scholarship. Although it stated the college, it did not state whether it was a 3 or 4 year scholarship. He called the ROO, who advised that any information would be contained in his letter from CC and until DS received that, he couldn't talk to him about any change in status...

ROO at one of my schools informed me that letters should be going out later this week or sometime next week.... doesn't that mean our portal status should've changed by now?

PATIENCE

In this world of instant gratification kids and parents need to learn patience. Asking the same question 20 times will not make the results post quicker. There is no written rule as to when the portals will be changed and even when they are, nothing is official until you receive a letter.

You (applicants) are wanting to go into the military. Long lines and many hours of waiting, waiting, and waiting. Learn Patience.

I'm sure that when the portals are changed someone will post.

Just a random thought....perhaps CC isn't updating the portals until after the letters are mailed - changing the order of how the information is processed. The portal was never the "official" notification, with limited manpower getting those letters in the mail faster actually benefits those awarded scholarships. You get all the details faster...

Anyhow, just keep on checking a few times a day on your portals, check in here for support and to share information. The wait is long and nerve wracking, but as the previous poster pointed out - patience is a good thing when the military is involved. Thoughts are with all of you and your famiiles -- good luck:thumb:

You hit the nail squarely on the head, the last board worked exactly that way.

CC updated CCIMS
Letters were written.
Letters were sent.
Applicants Status pages were updated.
Letters were received within just a few days after the status page update.

For those waiting I wouldn't count seeing any status page updates until the end of this week, maybe even the beginning of next week.

Since this is the last board CC needs to go through every application, make allocations to the schools and then use what Marist called the Alternate list to fill in the gap. This all takes a little more time then the first and second boards.

Don't bother calling the battalion ROO at your school of choice, the ROO's are told not to say anything until the letters are sent and received. As others have said, Nothing is final until you receive the letter.

QA1517's advice of Patience is a good one.

Once your cadet starts ROTC they will learn the need for patience quickly, it's almost a given that when the Army give a date for notification, they are almost always late.

There will be a date the OML is to come out, it will be later then that date. The actual date the branches are given out will be later then published. Even when my son applied for CULP, they said they would be notified by Dec. 15, he found out Jan. 3rd.

The results will come, and when the status pages start to change you will see people posting the results here quickly. There is really no need to ask if anyone has seen a status change, when they change, you won't have to ask, people will just post them.

One other thing, if after you receive a scholarship you find that you need to apply for a transfer, you will need to be even more patient. By that time the Government Employees Furloughs will most likely have started. There are not a lot of people that handle the scholarships at CC, take away one day a week and things will get a lot slower, it could take much longer to get information and have any request processed. This will be a very big test in patience for everyone.

Good luck to all the applicants.

Thanks for the update.

Appreciate anyone posting to the forum if they see their online status change, so we get an idea that the site is being updated.

Thanks again.

Start checking your portals! Just checked kine and learned I received a scholarship to U of Alabama! Was hoping for U of South Carolina. Hoping the letter brings that offer. Nonetheless a great way to start break! Good luck!:shake:

Congratulations, looks like your the first one to post a status change.

Did it say whether it was a 4 year or 3 year scholarship.

Is it true that the portal offer on-line lists one school - in alphabetical order - of the choices selected by applicant and that letter sent out later will list the rest of choices if the school is not "closed"?
