Hey all,

basically my question is, what exactly is the process.

I sent in my information before the January 15th deadline, and on my status screen it says I need to do an interview. Well I contacted the PMS of UCF, my school of choice, and one of his subordinates responded saying I have an interview on the 14th at 1300. I read in a thread on these boards that I need to bring my physical test results and my physical along with me to the interview, well I don't have either.

I did take a physical for West Point, and that was already sent in at the beginning of the school year.

But yeah, I just want to make sure I bring the correct documents to the interview because I can't find a straight, or official, answer to my question.

my son was not directed to bring anything to his interview. He brought his resume, contact info. That's it.

Alright great.

Any idea on clothes to wear? Is a collared shirt and some nice slacks sufficient or do you think I should go and wear one of my suits?

This is generally how the process plays out:

1. Sign up online, fill out your application.

2. You should then be contacted by one of more of the schools that you listed on your application about setting up an interview.

3. Take the Presidential Physical Fitness test with a gym teacher, JROTC Instructor, or coach OR Take the PPF or AFPAT at the university you interview with. (This step should be covered if you did some form of fitness test at Westpoint)

4. Interview at the university, you should have your HS transcript and your fitness scores if you didn't test at the school.

5. Wait until the board meets and cuts the OML. (At this point your online status will still say that you need contact the nearest university for an interview, if you've already interviewed this just means nothing has changed.)

6. If you recieve a scholarship: Your online status should update with DODMERB info. A day or two later it will update again listing the schools you have been given offers to. You should get your acceptance letter within 1-3 weeks (mostly depending on holidays).

7. Select your desired school from the letter and send it back, then head online and set up your DODMERB account.

8. [The following steps may be different for others] Within a week of setting up the account you should get a letter in the mail (from a private contractor) with info on the DODMERB. The letter will tell you which doctors to make appointments with and how you should prepare yourself for the physical.

9. Set up and attend the physicals, the medical providers should send the results to Cadet Command.

This is about as far as I've gotten in the process. But I'm fairly certain passing the physical is the last step in the process.

Good Luck!

Steps 3 and 4 can be switched around.

I would wear shirt and tie. Also have exercise clothes in the car because sometimes they make you do the PFT at the interview.

My son wore long sleeve collared shirt, dockers, belt, nice shoes. He wore this 'lucky' outfit to AROTC, AFROTC, USNA congressional nomination interviews. He's 3 for 3 in that outfit! :thumb:

What size does he wear and can you ship?

the post about the entire process was very informative, im at the same spot it seems. Do you know if Cadet command reviews the entire package and then sends the actual scholarship documentation in the mail?? i ask because i was approved for a waiver in early January after being offered a scholarship in october and im still waiting to hear back from cadet command about the final status
