Army ROTC Scholarship Question

I am currently a senior in high school and am about to be finished with the Army ROTC scholarship application. I was wondering what my odds are of getting the ROTC scholarship is (I will list some qualifications below) or if it depends on the school (I got accepted into VMI, Citadel, NMMI, and some local colleges).

SAT- 1870
ACT- 27
Class Rank: 25 out of 300
President of National Honor Society
Captain of a few sport teams and Debate team
Attended Girls State
Navy SLS
I have qualified hours of volunteer work and leadership within the community.

I also have a question about the stipulations of the scholarship. Let's say that I receive a ROTC scholarship for 2+ years. Do I have to stay at the school that I have the ROTC scholarship to or can I apply to a service academy (West Point or Annapolis) after the first year? If I get into one of the service academies after the first year at the college, am I allowed to attend the academy or must I stay until the scholarship expires.

Beside my questions, any other insight regarding ROTC scholarship and how they interact with service academy appointments would be appreciated.

Thank you!

If you receive a scholarship you can still apply to an Academy, if you get an appointment you will be released from your scholarship obligation.

I assume you started your AROTC SCholarship application prior to the Jan. 10th deadline.

Your chances depend on whether the schools/battalions have any scholarship slots left and how you compare to the other applicants that have also listed the same schools. The schools you listed are highly competitive. You will only be reviewed by the final board so it will be a one shot deal.

Thank you Jcleppe, your insight was valuable!

I did start my application prior to the deadline. The last step I have is my interview.
My top selections are VMI and NMMI, both would be out of state tuition.
Any feedback regarding those two schools?
