My son is an AROTC candidate whose application was to be reviewed by the
Jan 4th board. Today he received a DoDMERB Packet in the mail to schedule his physical. I am wondering if this is a sign that he will be offered a scholarship. Let me know what you think.

From what I understand, in the past, it was usual to be offered the scholarship and the DodMERB packet would follow. My DS ( & quite a few others from what I read here on these boards) have been sent the DoDMERB packet *before* hearing anything about scholarships being offered..... and we are still waiting.

I remember reading Larry Mullins suggesting this is a "good sign" BUT nothing is official until you get a letter in writing. As an active military family, I can honestly say that is SO TRUE! (My husband has been promised or offered many positions.... but it doesn't hold water until he has orders. Same it true here.

I personally think this is just a new process that CC is implementing this time around. But hey, any communication is awesome! You're DS is in the list and now, we wait.
