AROTC contract commitment

I was recently awarded an AROTC 4-year scholarship, and I just received the contract in the mail where I have to accept or decline the scholarship offer by March 1st. I am still waiting for an admissions decision from the Coast Guard Academy, and I was wondering if I accept the Army scholarship, will I then be unable to join the CGA if I am offered a spot there?

You can accept the scholarship and if you receive an offer from one of the academies you may attend there instead. Or, you could go anywhere else you want.... they can't make you use the scholarship. It would be a good idea if you let them know if you don't plan to use it though at the appropriate point in time.

To clarify, you are signing a Notice of Intent to Utilize the AROTC scholarship. This is not the contract. As indicated above, you can elect not to use the scholarship if another opportunity presents itself.
