Each school seems to handle this differently.

My son's 2 friends received theirs weeks ago. My son's school is sending them out this week. They did have us fax up the birth certificates and a copy of the Social security cards already and we're expecting the package any day. I do know that the school wants the package back by July 20.

Is receipt of the packet dependent on when a cadet submits the College Choice Confirmation Form (or whatever it's called)?

Son hasn't received a packet. But, his form just went in yesterday.

I don't even plan to send out my packets until July at my school. I'll also be doing PT tests all summer.

bottom line, each school does it differently. If it's really stressing you then drop the enrollement officer/ROO a note to see when they'll send it out. None of the paperwork is anything too time sensitive. You won't sign the contract until the fall and that is when most of the paperwork needs to be done.

Have a great summer.

My son received his package today. (The person in charge of mailing had emailed them all yesterday to let them know they had gone out.)

My son's school wants everything returned by July 20. A copy of the Social Security card and Birth certificate was already faxed in by most.

Just received it today. It is actually quite simple and is not what I was expecting but its likely that this is far from the complete set of papers. Most of the forms were on an included flash drive, that I had to fill in on Excel.

Son received his yesterday.

And why didn't any of you warn this weepy emotional mom about that "Dental Records for ID" (or whatever it's called) form? Holy moly. I didn't see that coming.:yikes:

That got me as well. Also writing next of kin etc.

I called our dentist today to ask the question about the dental records as we were supposed to and the receptionist about died when I asked her if they had the appropriate records to ID someone n

Haven't received or even heard anything about the process until I read these posting today. Doesn't sound like we need to be too concerned though.

k2rider,

Our only concern is that if it does not occur quickly on campus, the 1st month stipend might not be paid. Ours is scheduled during an ROTC Orientation which occurs before school orientation. I believe 4 year scholarship recipients have to be contracted before the stipend can begin.

Maybe 'Clarkson' knows.

I second this.
I e-mailed the PMS at my school and was told that it would be handled during Orientation for my school.

It's my understanding *IF* I rememember correctly that the 1st stpends aren't paid out until you pass the 1st set of PT testing anyway. I saw a schedule and the 1st test dates at my daughters school is the 2nd week of September (school starts Aug 30th).

I just had orientation last weekend, and filled out a couple of basic papers. You cannot get the stipend until you are contracted, and you cannot contract until you pass the apft.

Sounds like every school does it a little differently.

My son's Recruiting Officer sent all the new scholarship cadets an e-mail and told them what to bring when they show up for school in August and that all the contracting paperwork would be completed at that time.

I ended up getting an e-mail from my battalion about a month before school starts.
Now I am working on all of it, and the CC104R is kicking my butt. :yllol:

Check out Part 1 paragraph 1. a. (2)

You will see that the stipend and book money (and tuition) don't get paid until 45 days into each fall semester. You need to come prepared to pay for books and not depend on stipend for the first 2 months. I think this is to make sure the cadet shows up and signs up for ROTC class each year. Also keep in mind that stipend doesn't start till you pass the PT test and are DODMERB Q.

Had a cadet a couple years ago that was waiting for his Army check to buy his physics book. Needless to say he didn't do well in that class and is no longer a cadet a Clarkson.

Hope that helps.

It is valuable to finally see the "contract". One thing struck me as odd. There is a note between 1c and 1d stating that payment from the cadet's home to their school won't be paid for. The AROTC scholarship documentation we received from CC states that the first trip from home to the cadet's school will be reimbursed. I did notice the document it is dated July 2005, so it may be out of date.

I believe that paragraph addresses travel to LDAC, not from home to University. Travel to LDAC is paid for by Cadet Command. This form comes from the Army publication website, and is the current form. Funny how the contract seems to be a secret, when in fact it's pretty simple and straight forward, which is why I make sure to share it whenever possible.

We received my son's packet about a month ago and it's all completed and back up to the school.

There was a form that we filled out about getting reimbursed for travel to the school. We had to put our address down and the date we would be traveling. They must calculate the mileage.

If we are traveling far, they want hotel receipts for along the way. The hotel CAN'T be in the same town or near the school for the night prior. They also said to hold onto airline ticket receipts and bring those in.

CJS, thanks for the info. We are planning to drive our daughter to school and it will be about 1000 miles. It would be nice to get some reimbursement for the mileage and an hotel stop along the way.
