AROTC Scholarship awards may be starting

I'm doing the waiting thing. Status changed on Friday afternoon. My first early action deadline (for probably the most selective school on my list) is tomorrow. Trying not to get trigger happy and hit the submit button.

Maybe tomorrow will be our day!

Meant early decision- binding. No schools tonight. Sigh.

I'll say again....Call the ROO at the school you are looking to submit a Early Decision, they should be able to tell you if the scholarship is offered to that school.

If you click ED and find out later the scholarship is not for that school then you may be in a real pickle. Transferring scholarships are not easy to do unless it meets some strict criteria.

Status just changed...so maybe more just now changing?!!. :thumb:

You have been offered an Army ROTC Scholarship, pending medical qualification from Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DODMERB), at ….

(Edited below and still do not know if 3 yr. AD or 4 Yr. -- will wait for official letter.)

#1 Choice (Private)
#2 Choice (Private)

Good luck to all!!

Congrats on the offer:jump1: Glad to hear there may be more good news coming out of CC:thumb:

Thanks, Ohio2015Parent!! It is exciting and I hope others will be recieving updates soon, too!!

Status now lists "in state" school, number six choice.

I would check back this afternoon...just a guess, but it seems most updates from Cadet Command have been after 3 pm ET. Again, just a educated guess...good luck!!

You were so right- my son's schools showed up just after 3 p.m. today.

Unfortunately not what he was hoping for- his very last choice, and a very expensive private school that is a stretch. Scratching our heads as to why he didn't get his first choice (public, in-state, good match for admissions).

Don't know yet if it's for 3 years or 4.

Congratulations to your DS!

DS status posted this afternoon. #1 choice, private school, 2nd Brigade.

For those who have been accepted, I would be very grateful if you also posted you stats. It puts things in perspective. Thanks in advance.

Im really confused about my status

So I called the military science instructor at the school I had my interview at well before the first board date to ask her if I was "Board Ready" and she said yes. But this is what it shows...

You have been selected for an interview. Please contact the Professor of Military Science at the school of your choice.

I have already done my DoDMERB for service academies and qualified/passed and i was told u dont do DoDMERB for ROTC untill after you get a scholarship. Also its kind of contradicting since it says I've been selected for an interview, but its already been received. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Last year everyone's status said exactly what yours is saying until they were actually awarded a scholarship and then it FINALLY changed. Since you're already DoD MERB qualified for SAs, you are one step ahead of the game for ROTC.

so i guess i didnt get selected by the first board?

Don't know if all of the results from the first board are posted yet...maybe if anyone else knows if they are done posting awards they will jump in here...

Someone posted today that their status changed, I would wait until tomorrow and then call the ROO at the school you have had the most contact with and ask if the final results are out for this board.

Received 2 scholarships: my #1 choice, private school 3-year (ROO told me that it was 3) and also offered a scholarship for unknown amount of years at in-state school i did not list. Both 8th brigade

Also, the private school pays for room & board for ROTC cadets. I was wondering if even though it is not a 4-year, would the college pay for freshman year room and board? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations carroll32! My guess is that each school is different regarding their paying room and board, just as some schools pick it up while others don't. Would be best to contact the school directly and ask them rather than speculate...
