AROTC Scholarship False Missing Items

Late last month I had performed my AROTC scholarship interview at my #1 college which was to complete my application packet. They told me there was nothing else I had needed and my application would be sent to the first board. I had doubled checked everything to make sure my application was complete.

Then, this Friday, I received a letter from the army with a notification that I was missing something in my application, 2 weeks after the first board. I have gotten letters similar to this before and never has it said anything like this. It stated as follows:

"You indicated on your application that you have previously earned college credits. Please provide explanation as to the number and type of credits earned"

I have checked my application over and over and there is nothing on it that says I have earned college credits. The letter also said that they could not send my application to the board without all of the missing items. Obviously there is some type of error with my application but it worries me because it might mean that I will not be evaluated in the first board. If I was not it could cause major problems. I am applying for ED to my #1 school and the decision comes in in December, before the 2nd board. That means I would have to make my decision on whether I go to that college without the knowledge of whether or not I have a scholarship, and it is a very expensive school. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do next?

I'd definitely send an email and ask what the problem is. Also you might want to call the PMS at your #1 college and ask him if he can access your records to determine whether there is an issue. I know that the PMS at one of my son's civilian college choices was able to access his records. Good luck and I hope your package made it in front of the first board.:thumb:

Thank you for all the advice. I talked to my point of contact and got everything worked out. Turns out I was in the first board after all. Now all that's left is the anxiety of waiting for the results
