AROTC Scholarship Letter Is HERE!!!

So excited for you S&H. I know you have VMI as first choice but do you mind sharing what the other two colleges were?

Sent using the Service Academy Forums® mobile app

4 year to VMI, USF, and Purdue (where I interviewed).

Although I love VMI and most likely will accept it to there, it's going to be so hard to decline those other schools (ESPECIALLY Purdue, since the cadre there helped get my file cleared and basically made this whole thing possible). Big decisions due by December 22nd.....

My son just opened his letter. He received a four year to his top three choices, all private schools. We are very happy for him.

Congratulations. Were these the schools that your son visited and interviewed at?

So is it safe to assume at this point that if I did not receive the Scholarship offer via email that I will not receive one for the first board? I live over seas without an APO so checking the mail box for an actual letter will take some time.

If you've checked your spam folder and you've checked your portal, and there's nothing there, then you've been rolled over to the 2nd board.

My son visited number 1 and number 3. He did his interview at his number 1 choice.

You dont have to wait any longer!!!

GUYS I'M A GENIUS!!:shake:

The winner letter is in your scholarship portal (not the check status site) under the file upload system, titled "winner letter"

It shows all the schools and whether it's a 3 or 4 year!

I got 4 year scholarships to USC, ASU, and Northeastern University. (My top 3!)

If, by chance, you end up at USF, you may see my son there. It's his 2nd choice, as well. It's an IS school for us. They've thrown quite a bit of money at him, so I'm trying to sweet talk him into making it his first choice. Don't know how much headway I'm making, though. Out of curiosity, since you are out of state, what got you interested in USF? If you haven't visited there before, the campus is really pretty and the ROTC facilities look nice, too. DS hasn't met with the cadre yet, though. He's waiting to hear results from the ROTC scholarship first.

My DS had one in school public, one SMC (which is the most expensive actually), and one private. All 4 year.

4-year to top three choices

1) The University of Texas at Austin
2) TCU
3) The Citadel

My DD did not receive her snail mail letter today, but thanks to you we now know that she was offered 4 years to Dickinson, William and Mary and Dartmouth!!!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: AND, she rec'd a call from our senator's office for an interview! What a day!!

Looks like CC really cut loose with the 4yr Scholarships with the first board, so far at least.

Congratulations to you all.

I have visited USF multiple times (grandparents live nearby) and the real incentive is combined with academic scholarships it would be absolutely free for me to attend there. I just don't know if I can turn down VMI though :thumb:

Where is the scholarship portal? Is this for Navy, or other military branch

OK Thank You! We are waiting for Navy ROTC, and have no updates on the "Check Status" Portal.
And congrats!

Wow, congrats to your daughter, too! She has chosen some really great colleges. What academy is she applying to, West Point?

Late to the party

Hey guys, I know I'm a little bit late to the posting party, but I just got back from wrestling practice to find my letter!

As seems to be a trend for the first board this year, I was awarded a four-year to all 3 of my choices.

UNC-Chapel Hill, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and Appalachian State UNiversity.

At this point, I'm waiting on news of an Out-of-State Excellence scholarship from UTK that would cover my room and board- thus giving me essentially full-ride- to help make my decision.

Congratulations to all!
