Hey everyone, this is my first post on the SAF. I completed my AROTC file mid January, which made me ineligible for the second board. I contacted my scholarship processor a few days ago and she responded to me saying that final notifications will be sent out no later than May 31st. That wouldn't be a problem if all of the colleges I got accepted to didn't want a deposit by May 1st. What happens if I put a deposit down for say, SUNY Albany, but in mid-May get a scholarship to Fordham? Will I have to forfeit the scholarship? Or is there a way to accept my scholarship without putting a deposit down for every school?

Thanks!
Rob

You should find out whether or not you received a scholarship soon. The results have been uploaded and they are just waiting to be signed off. A ROO that posts here has said that status pages should start changing by early to mid week, this coming week. If your status does not change within a week of the first status changes you would want to check with the ROO at one of the schools you listed. The May 31st date is when the final letter is sent out for scholarship receipients to confirm or decline, it is also the official date that those that do not receive a scholarship will be notified.

Good Luck you still have time before May 1st.

there is no issue in paying a deposit at a school and later telling them that you won't be coming after all. You lose the deposit, but that's it.

Thanks a lot, this whole process is pretty nerve wracking. Time to get used to hurry up and wait! Hopefully I'll hear from cadet command in the next few weeks.
