AROTC "winners"

I was in the first group boarded but have yet to find out whether I have won a scholarship or not. When will results from the next awardee board reach the next winners?

If you won a scholarship, your portal would change from "boarded" to "winner". If your's still says boarded, your next chance will be in February.

My application is still boarded as well... Confident, but nervous! Hoping for good news either tomorrow or further in the future

The website for Army ROTC website changes to say "Boarded," but the NROTC never changes to say "Boarded." So you never know for sure, if your filed has been reviewed by the board. It has been said that NROTC only reviews a certain number of files for each board, so there are usually many that have been received, but may be down in the "pile" and will be reviewed at future boards. Army ROTC, on the other hand, reviews every file that is completed in time for the first board and the boarded file rolls to the next board to be considered against all of the new files that are completed after the 1st board happened.

Thank you for clarifying! Helpful in managing expectations.

Winner

Hello - new to the group. My son's status changed to Winner yesterday for a 4-year to his top 3: Univ of Portland (my alma mater!), Denver University, and CO School of Mines!! He has already been accepted to UP and we are expecting to hear from others soon.
Congrats to all who have been awarded so far - and the others just stay positive!!

3 AD to 3 1/2 or 4

Will the Army webpage change from 3AD to more if my DD is upgraded? At what point "may" she hear something? She's a freshman now. Thanks :thumb:

The webpage will not change, that status was for the National Scholarship Process. If daughter is given an upgrade to her scholarship, it will come from the battalion and they will inform her themselves, there will be no change to the webpage.

Congrats! DS had to decide between Mines and UP too. He's at UP and loves it. :thumb:

Living in Colorado I'm sure you are aware of this..... Mines is hard!!!

DS has some friends that go/went to Mines... These were the kids with IB, SAT scores off the chart and 4.0 unweighted GPA's. A few flunked their freshman year. Not due to partying just due to the fact the school is insanely difficult. Be prepared.

Weird...our access to the ARMY ROTC scholarship site has been down for a couple of hours. Wish that meant little elves were secretly updating my DS's record but I suspect it is routine maintenance and we'll be waiting until April. sigh...........

Still can't access. Says server issue...hmmm

The server is down for routine maintenance until Monday morning.

Thanks ElCid. Looks like we're probably "boarded" and this is just regular maintenance. Darn....time to hibernate until January :-(. Go Bulldogs!

Signed on just to see if you had posted SgtLee. Rooting your son on! :)

We received permission to contact winners and just as quickly the system was shut down for migration. Be patient and keep checking your application.

Question: I know for NROTC, if you "accept" the scholarship, you can still decline later on -- like if you get an appointment to one of the service academies. Is it the same way with accepting an AROTC scholarship? I'm looking over the paperwork and it isn't as clear as it is with an NROTC scholarship. If anyone has any info would appreciate it, thanks so much!
