My daughter made her choice today for which school to attend. She went with her fourth choice, so grateful it ended up on her list of choices, it has turned out to be her number one choice! She found out a few days after the scholarship update that she was moved from the wait list to accepted to the school of nursing, and will be attending the University of Portland in the fall. The last 8 days have been amazing and crazy all at the same time! Now on to DoDMERB, eye exam tomorrow and still waiting to hear back for her appointment for the medical. Good luck to everyone as you navigate the process.

Yes. My DS requested a transfer 2 weeks ago. The email he received back said 7-10 business days for processing. He called cc yesterday and they told him he won't be notified until May 6. Of course, deposits are due in on May 1. We don't know what to do at this point.Waiting on the letter to request transfer , any one in the same boat?
Thank you. That's what we were thinking of doing. However I'm thinking I need to contact 2 schools as the one he's requested the transfer to is too costly and he would have to then go to a different school if the transfer is denied.Contact admissions and ask for an extension, explain the circumstances...or pay two deposits.
Envelope with the pretty portfolio was about 15 days after he sent in the Email with all the paperwork that had been emailed. They pretty much do everything email now. We cced the selected college with the paperwork so they were able to know where he is and start the folder they need. He is running and working push-ups situps every day he can pass the PFT but want to be above min so he has a better shot at a .5 or 1 yr bump up which will save us 8K on that first year. It is hard cause when tuition is covered by Merit and PELL at a in-state rate State school still cheapest housing option is $1825, meal 'plan' $600 mandatory, books $500 - 600, Supplies - transportation to/from school $900 = $3825 - 3925 a semester so make sure hitting all the things he is eligible for so it would be nice for him to get the bump up. So happy for everyone!!Oh! still haven't received my winner letter. does anyone know how long it usually takes? my portal was updated a week ago.
Wow, that room and board, while still is a lot of money, is reasonable. Here on the West coast it is typically 10-12k a year (some cali schools are more, just go one state inland however, and a lot of schools are 7-8k. We are definitely grateful for the school picking up the room and board freshman year, 12,200 for room and board is a lot!Envelope with the pretty portfolio was about 15 days after he sent in the Email with all the paperwork that had been emailed. Yes that Room amount and fact it will be covered once he is under contract (please get bumped up to 3.4 or 4 yr) is a big part of why went with AUM over UNG (never covers room and board nor uniforms) and Howard DC (20K for R&B) and they only offer SOME the free R&B so couldn't pick it not knowing if that would be in 2 years a year's salary already in debt... Good thing since he is Native American he was eligible for AICF as well as NSHSS scholarships and a handful of local community service scholarships that he should grab most since he has just gone over 800 Community Service hours so he is well and above the others in his Senior class and the Navy League has a scholarship. He did already get a $500 for Golf Team so that is a yeah Books bought semester 1 thing lol He is lucky as well that he already has duel enrollment credits so it lets him go the 12 credits instead of the 12 plus 3-4 ROTC credits to stay on track for graduation these first two semesters and save any need for a 15 + credit semester till ROTC is paying. Best part has been hearing complementary things about AUM's program from other schools. So it may have to have been the choice economically it was his Top pick from meeting with ROTC staff and campus tour. Can't beat the fact eiter that the Kineseology program they have offers free analysis and gives fitness prescriptions, adjusting form and even giving all the stuff professional sports players have all for free in the wellness center / Sports Medicine/Kineseology training building. He also was pretty gaga over the Rock climbing Wall as you wall in the door too.Wow, that room and board, while still is a lot of money, is reasonable.
