Anyone have an idea as to how many are left? If so, what are left, NWL? I guess you could probably come up with the reason why I am posting this question. Lotta prayers comin' out of this house.

Just a wild guess, but if the class size, as reported in another thread, was going to be set at approx 1,200 .....you gotta figure more than 1,200 offers are going out. If 200 are USMAPS offers sent in May and 500+ other offers have already been mailed (as noted in other threads) that still means a lot of BFE's going out. Right? Best of luck to everyone.

It is only my opinion, but I am thinking all offers have went out. I think all applicants were ranked and then placed on a list. The highest names on that list were in the first round of offers. I think that the offers going out now will be based on someone declining their offer. We have not gotten an offer, so I am thinking my son is wait listed. His hope now rests on how far down the list he is and how many people decline offers. I say again, this is only my best guess from what I have been told in my state. I am like many of you....praying daily with my son and stalking his portal every hour.

Based on what I've been reading on the "acceptance" thread only 500 or so offers went out in the first wave a few weeks ago. I have not been watching closely enough, so maybe more were sent out, but those in that thread mentioned more to come in March. Best of luck.

Based on the information posted on the WP Admissions Facebook page, 500 appointment offers were mailed on Feb.22, another 152 were mailed on Feb 28. Admissions has indicated that the review board meets on Tuesdays and mails appointment offers on Thursdays. Furthermore they will continue to do so until the class is full. If past class acceptance can be used as an indicator, it appears that the percentage of fully qualified to offered admission percentage is around 81%. If that is true one could estimate that before it is over they will mail out close to 1450 appointment offers. We are closer to the half way point than the end. also keep in mind this year, they are giving candidates 45 days to accept the offer, otherwise it will be given to another candidate.

My DD received a letter about 4 weeks ago telling her she was fully qualified and was beling placed on the NWL. Our understanding is unless you have a p-nom from your MOC you go on the NWL. In our case, our MOC only offers competitive nominations.

Maybe Not

It is only my opinion, but I am thinking all offers have went out. ... I think that the offers going out now will be based on someone declining their offer.

I wouldn't assume ALL offers have already gone out. There likely are still some slates where a candidate is pending a DODMERB waiver, so the slate can't be finalized. There may be slates where a file was finalized at the end of Feb so Admissions hasn't met to determine it. Lastly there could be cases where the NWL order us still not settled. I expect that the majority of the top NWL hasn't received news yet.

I do agree that there are still going to be offers that occur due to someone declining, and some of those individuals may be waiting on other academy decisions. Until the TWE comes, keep praying and planning for Plan B, C, D etc.

I was told this week from my outreach offer the offer cycle is not complete. They still have not selected additional appointees.

Lets take a look at this.....

Lets take a look at Class of 2016. This year could be similar. The Class of 2016 was 1183 on R-Day. 1337 offers of appointment were made. 154 declined the offer for whatever reason. This tells me not many back up offers were given. From what I understand there was 1200 +/- or so left on the NWL to later receive a QNS letter. The QNS letter was given to applicants who were 3Q’d with noms.

Again and again it has been stated to keep your Plan B and C moving forward. The important thing is to “progress.” If you feel in your heart of hearts, West Point is home then reapply again. If you do reapply, it means you have to reapply and that means be a more competitive candidate. Work on your ACT/SAT scores, continue with your education, enroll in classes that are similar to Plebe year.

Investigate a one of the many Civil Prep Schools. There are many advantages in attending. If nothing else you’ll be better a prepared college student.

If you unfortunately do get a QNS letter. Its nothing to be ashamed about. You made it to WP. They just didn't have enough seats for everyone. There were 20,000 other applicants who didn't even make it as far as you did.

Good Luck!

Rough numbers (I do not have the official numbers) based on some information today from a Regional RC and several years of experience in this process. All numbers are approximate!!

Class Size 1150-1200
Offers sent 700-750
Offers Eventually Accepted from this group 630-675
Prep School eventual offers 200

Therefore total accepted with Prep School 830-875 (about 853)

Need about an additional 322 Cadets

Remaining offers (assuming 10% decline rate) 360 offers

Therefore I predict about 360 additional people will get offers-about 100 of these were probably mailed today

Again - this is just my "best guess" based on some facts and several years experience

I checked with our CDC he indicates that MAPS candidates are not part of the class size. He also indicated that the Class size is still targeted to be 1200.
In looking at the 2012 Board Of Visitors data, looks like the acceptance rates are 81%. Again, the data is reflective of the Class of 2012, which would mean looking at candidates entering in 2009. No idea if candidate demographics have changed.

I agree with the 700-750 number, WP Admissions Facebook has not posted a number for releases this week. No idea if admissions is taking next week of for Spring Break.

The profile only talks about qualified and admitted, does not talk about offered and declined. Hopefully the decline rate is greater than 10%, which would mean somewhere between 1350- 1450 offers will extended.

Sounds as if there are quite a few appointments left to be mailed.

At least 300-350 people who have not heard anything will get offers - hang tight!!
