Hello all,

I am aware of all of the recent news concerning West Point men's rugby, which is most unfortunate, but I ask this in assuming (and hoping) that the team gets reinstated.

Looking at the Rugby schedule from 2012/2013, the first match is in September and the last match is in June.

That is a long season and there are many matches. Just in general, just even based off of observation, does rugby (and any other athletic event) require so much time that you're unable to do other things? I ask this because there are many workshops, clubs, and club activities that I heard about and would like to participate in.

Do rugby (and everyone else) players have to sacrifice their ability to partake in club/workshop activities for their sport?

Thanks!

BP: I believe walk-ons do occur. I was told that they have practices and know-hows during the evenings at Beast and then actual tryouts during the start of the academic year (for rugby) but don't hold me to it for other sports.
