As of today, my candidate portal says that I "have been authorized to retake the CFA," and that I should send my contact a new e-mail to restart the process.

I originally took the CFA in June at the Navy Summer Seminar, and West Point has had my scores since July.

Does anyone know what this means? Am I required to retake it? Is this happening to anyone else?

That means you probably failed your first one or they're just allowing you to take it for some odd reason. No worries, this is an excellent opportunity. Input the email for a coach or someone to administer the retake and then go ahead and do your best on the retest.

I would say if they are giving you another opportunity to take it, you should. This happened to my DD two years ago at USAFA. When I finally questioned them about it, they told me her package would not go forward unless she retook it an showed improvement. It was not that she did badly in all areas, but a show of improvement in her scores, gave her package a more likely chance of progressing. She eventually got in, but it was very late in the game, May 2, 2010. So we were scrambling after that. Just my two cents. Good Luck!

gumball2016, what were your scores?

I don't remember exactly, but something like:

Push-ups: 52
pull-ups: 17
sit-ups: 92
1-mile run: ~5:50
b-ball throw: 40 ft
shuttle run: ?

I don't remember my shuttle run time, but it was not very good.
