Hello, Can anyone who had been appointed please provide your New SAT score if possible? I am trying to see where the scores range from. Thanks!

Wondering the same thing, wondering if DD's score is anywhere close to having hope as we wait...

i think DS was a 1340 (680 math / 660 Eng) on the new SAT as a recruited athlete

Here are the scores for the Class of 2020:

· Math scores, for the 25th to 75th percentiles, ranged from 610 – 690 on the SAT and from 26 – 32 on the ACT.

· Verbal ranged from 580 – 660 on the SAT and 26 – 30 on the ACT Reading.

DS had 670 math 660 verbal. 1330 total. From what I have been told it's a whole picture thing. GPA extra curricular etc.

Several months back when DD was staring the application process, she met her AO at and informational night and she told my DD if she gives her a 28 on the ACT she'll send her a LOA. We were surprized by that seeing so many higher scores but she said it was because she was 3rd in her class of 102. So other factors do play into this as we already know. BTW, she is # 8 in her class now since her AP classes are tough and there are plenty of other students NOT juggling multiple activities.

Sorry, this situation took place with a different service academy but, in any case, all factors do make every applicant unique in some way.

My DD asked me. I will tell her. She did not see a place in the application to do it.

We are under the impression that the official score reports must be sent directly from ACT or the College Board (SAT).

thats correct - it has to be sent from the test site using the school code - you should also probably send an 'unofficial' copy to you admissions officer and ask them to confirm how to submit the official version

Yes- this is correct. Some schools let your counselor send a copy, but most, including USCGA require them to be sent directly from the testing service. So if you didn't include a schools code at the time of testing you will need to order them to be sent. THIS TAKES TIME- don't delay! SAT was running behind in sending out reports earlier this fall and you will have to pay a premium if you need quickly!

By all means send the latest SAT score in if you are a Regular Admissions applicant! I'm glad DD selected Regular Admissions over EA because she just nailed her Nov. 5th SAT by increasing the result +100 points to over 1,400 + "some change" !

SATs are important, no doubt ! But not for everyone; My example: one of the USCGA staff who was part of the Sept. 2, 2016 USCGA Candidate for a Day program made it clear (using himself ) as an example of someone who had below average SAT scores that still got an Appointment.

I do believe (and the CGA seemed to confirm at the briefing) that each Service Academy is also on the hunt for “a hook” that an applicant may bring to a Class; Admissions attempts to uncover a life experience that may have shaped an applicant from what they put in the Application; does he/she have a background that could standout beyond the average applicant with good grades?; is there a ‘thing’ that makes this kid stand a bit above other’s?; does this person have 'more' to him/her than what appears ‘on paper’?

That's my 2 cents for this thread.
