Aviation career options

I know that Naval Academy sends about 1/3 of it's Mids to get their eyes fixed to 20/20. If successful they will become eligible to compete for spots to fly in Marine and Naval Aviation. I don't think that the other Academies do such. Being Medically qualified is a big hoop to get thru.

KP2001 do the other SA's provide the eye surgery for such? Warning to all-DO NOT have the eye surgery prior to entering the Academies for this will be a DISQUALIFIER!

I'm pretty sure USAFA has the PRK option for their cadets as well, unsure on USMA.

KP doesn't really offer this, but the midshipman could likely pay out of pocket after talking with the right people at school

Yes, USMA offers eye surgery.

These things are good know. The cost to get it done, upon approval at KP, is minimal for the amount of investment you get from flight school.

KP will not pay for corrective surgery but you can have it done if you pay for it out of pocket. BE SURE to coordinate this through KP or one of their military liaison offices so that you can be referred to a clinic that they have used in the past. DO NOT just run out and get the procedure done, you could end up disqualifying yourself.
