Awaiting Appointment

Good Afternoon,
I have recieved my nomination to the USMMA and have qualified medically and passed the CFA. I am currently in a hold status on my application, I am told that this means I am appointable and that they are just awaiting a slot.

Anyone experience this before?

My DS has been a hold candidate since November. What this status means is...that your application met all the requirements for admission but they are holding off on offering a spot until they have room. So basically you are on the wait list. It is a national weight list and you are now competing in a national pool and also on a state level for those remaining state slots.

DS is from Florida, another real competitive state like Texas...so it could be real close to induce time before you will know if you made it in.

My DS asked an admission officer in person about this status and he said this year is so competitive that they like you but there are other candidates with better stats. He further said that with my DS stats that he would have already been offered an appointment in years past.

So, as he told my son, hang tight, secure plan B and hope for the best.

I hope thisnhelp. There is not a lot out there on a "hold" status.
 
Hold status

My DS recieved letter saying he was on the waiting list. Are you saying that "hold status" is the same as "waiting list"?
 
Yes, I believe that the letter did say wait list. I

f you were able to access the online application status, the status would have indicated "hold." The online application status link has been down for over a month now.
