DD just received a 4 year Nrotc national scholarship as a College Freshman. Does this mean she will be retroactively reimbursed for her Freshman year tuition?

In short...no.

Maybe the Navy side is different, but I don't think so. For my son, who was also awarded a 4-year scholarship after his first semester, it won't "kick in" until Fall 2015....still a great deal.

I think it depends on the unit. I doubt they will go back and pay for the first semester, but I have heard of some picking up the current semester when awarded a 4 year.

You're best bet is to have DD check with the cadre before the current semester ends.

My son is a college program Marine Option this year. He received the 4 year Marine Option scholarship during the early board last November. His scholarship does not kick in until the Fall of his sophomore year and is not retroactive.

Thank you. Considering the limited number of navy nurse scholarships given we are extremely grateful.
