I am just wondering if you have a bad freshman year can you come back from it and stilll recieve an appointment?

I have wanted to got to USNA since 6th grade. I slacked off big time last year and really regret it.(I thought i could fly through highschool w/o having to do much). Bad idea. I ended up with a 3.3 gpa but i had joined a lot of ec's and did decent on my psat.

I made the varsity baseball team
was vp of french club
officer in FCA
active in robotics club
scored 180 on my PSAT
passed both of my AP exams
I have over 100+ hours of community service doing different things for my mayor

However I don't know how much this is looked upon at USNA but my wieghted gpa is a 4.1 because all of my classes were either honors or ap.

Please respond with suggestions to help my application.
Thanks a ton!!

Your freshman year will NOT kill you IF you have strong sophomore and junior years. Do your utmost to do well academically -- As and Bs in the "core" courses, such as English, math, history, science, language. If you can handle AP or honors courses, so much the better.

Doing well on the SAT/ACT is also helpful. You have time for that. Get the books and study -- make it an extra course of homework each night.
