BCG's Gone for class of 2016 and the military in general?

But they do "clean up well" when they get to wear their contacts again.:biggrin:
 
I think I have worn my glasses for a total of 3 days out of the past four years, I love contacts, glasses will be a shock period XD

But in the scheme of things, who cares?

I'm actually kinda disappointed I won't get to wear BCGs, in some weird way, I was looking forward to it.
 
I guess I can't really complain. Gonna be one more way my detailers can say they had it worse.
 
5A, S9, Buddy Holly

5A as BCG? Not so sure. Don't they remind you of the earlier Buddy Holly frames? Missing that small silver tab that anchored the earpiece, though. ($85 on e-bay!)

Even the S9 don't remind me of the black frame BCG that were standard for so many years. The S9 was a relief to obtain from the Eye Clinic! I think y'all just called the S9 "BCG" out of respect for the power of military eyewear to scare off enemies and friends alike. :smile:
 
BCGs were great when you wanted to go climbing, or something where your personal glasses might be at risk. Crawling through the mud and sand during BCT they'd be useful. But other than that the only other more useless piece of issued gear was those old "Chukka" boots. After boot camp the dumpsters were full of them...(I know, I'm dating myself)
