BCT ends

Thanks everyone! BCT was really tough and I am honestly so glad it is over! It sure feels great to sit here with shoulder boards! Boozebin, not sure how much wisdom I will be able to impart as a C4C but will definitely stay on the forums and keep in touch! I am still so grateful for everything you guys have done for me here on the forums! USAFAGradWife, I am friends with Rodgers, I'll let her know to come back on. Didn't see her too much during BCT, as she was an Aggressor and I was a Hellcat (Hell yeah!), but it was great to meet her finally!
Thank you all again for all the encouragement along the way and I look forward to continuing the journey with you all! :D

Yes, my DS was in that squadron as well. He was pretty excited about. He said his flight (I think, that is a subdivision of a squadron, correct?) went from literally dead last at the start of BCT to second in the entire group by the end of BCT-1. The only one ranked ahead of his was another demon flight.

Yes each BCT squad is comprised of 5 flight which are equivalent to their academic year squad. My DS is CS-20 called the Tough Twenty Trolls!

Awesome, congrats to your son! My DS is a Wolverine. I was to say that is 19? Thanks for explaining the flights per squadron.

Congrats to all of the class of 19. My son called me today immediately following the ceremony! He didnt think he'd get to keep his phone - and thinks he'll get it back parent's weekend. I wished I could've been there, but thankfully his roommate's parents were there. My son sounds great, is doing awesome and is loving the usafa life - although his schedule sounds daunting - physics 110 Honors, Chem 110 scholar, History 100 S, Russian, Calc 3. Not sure the difference between scholar and honors classes. Anyone know the answer to that one?

Hello All! I am definitely going to try and keep on here as I can, maybe give the page some time on Sundays. Basic was rough, mostly because I was injured the entire time, but it was a great experience! It feels nice being a part of the cadet wing. I don't have much knowledge on 4 degree life as it just started for us but I have made it a goal to give back to the forums what was given to me so as I learn more, I shall share. I enjoyed getting everyone's letters and If I haven't already sent one, you have one that is ready to be sent or already on the way. Thanks for all the encouragement!

Post when you can. I can only imagine how busy you'll be this first year. I'd wish you good luck but I don't think you need it!

I will and thanks for the faith!

Congrats RogersCO and Bailydb! You beat the Beast! I, like all others here, was very interested in when you both would surface again after a successful BCT!!
I was out for A-Day was still hoping you both made it through and were out on that field somewhere! B-2 fly-by pretty cool!
Had great time with one of my parentless DDOs Cadets since his parents could not make A-day. I tried to make a picnic lunch the best it could be in the lower lot!!
Also, attended to see my good friend and sponsor Cadet get promoted to "Wing-King"...overall a great day. Tried to get the Saber from him but no go on that!!
Best advice my C3C received is one I will pass on to you both: "Get a routine established ASAP, it will help guide you to successfully completing all the tasks that you have each and every day"!
Again congrats, now go work hard and see how fast Recognition will soon be here!

Thanks!!! The B-2 flyover was SOOOOOO cool! The B-2 is my favorite plane and that was the first time I'd seen it in person so that was pretty neat! By "Wing King" are you referring to our Cadet Wing commander? If so, he is one of the greatest leaders I have ever met! I remember on the Assault Course, the cadre took my rifle and was making me do high knees near the end of the course. I was so exhausted and was really struggling and our Wing Com (who was my Squad Com back then) was right there by me, muddy and tired, doing high knees with me, who was just a random basic. I tell you what, I have seen some really great leaders at this place and despite how hard it is, I feel so privileged to be here!

Thank you so much, I really enjoy knowing that you guys on here follow our path and care how we ended up! Also, Thank you for the advice!

Baileydb,

Yep, he is the one! And you are right he is going to be a great Wing Com!
What he did with you is par for the course, he truly cares about those under his command!
