Current cadets: Do the T-Shirts issued during BCT shrink at all/run big or small? I am typically a size large, but the form asking for my T-Shirt size says to order one size larger if unsure of the correct size. Trying to figure out if I should go with large or extra large. Thanks.

I think they tend to run pretty big- but I'm also a female, so I'm always swimming in the couple of mediums they accidentally gave to me.

They are extremely big. I have been wearing men's medium and large shirts all my life, and these are probably like a XL or XXL sized.
Unless they switch the uniform, your going to swim in it no matter what.

I wear a men's small, and I ordered a men's small. The pc shirts didn't shrink for me, but the Abu shirts extend about an inch past my shoulder now haha. Just order what you normally wear and don't worry about it!

The shirts are very large. Shorts, however, are very small. My recommendation for PC shorts is to get the largest size available unless you like having shorts mid-way up your thigh or higher. Mine started off at an alright length but it feels as if they shrink every time I wash them, and everyone's shorts are really short.

The shirts are huge-I ordered XS, though, and they fit pretty well. I normally wear small or medium shirts.

IF we ordered a size too large, will we still be able to try them on and get a different size on I-Day? I ordered medium, because I like my shirts to be super loose fitting, but I didn't know they ran so large, so I'd probably be better off with small or XS....

Your t-shirts will have your name and year on it, so you're stuck with what you get. That is, until you order new ones.

Which reminds me -- there were 2 cadets with the same last name, one male & one female. She ordered small and he extra large. You can guess what happened.

They eventually found each other and switched t-shirts. :D

Been wondering about this for a while: so any current, former cadets, or appointees know more about the shirt sizing? I have a vague idea but still a little stuck on choosing between XS and S and would like to hear a couple opinions before I decide.

On the form, it said if you aren't sure about the size, you should order a size larger. I did that and now that I am hearing this, should I be worried?

This Thread is from 2015 so I would assume that the shirts have changed since then. I feel like the advice on your portal (directly from USAFA) is probably more reliable. I would not stress about it.

It's weird because the appointee handbook says to order one size smaller if unsure, but my portal says to order one size larger if unsure...

That's exactly what I thought too. I just followed the portal since I thought it would be more accurate...
