Rught now I am only a frehsmen in high school. My dream is to attend USMA. I have been researching on how to become a doctor after West Point and attending Med School.

Being a Doctor through the Army would be my dream because
1) I get to attened USMA (my dream college)
2) Become an Officer in the Army
3) Become a Doctor (my second dream job besides becoming an officer)

What I wanted to know if going to USMA is the right path to pick if trying to become a doctor? Also, is there anyone on here that has some past experience with this process?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Is it really competitive getting picked for that 2% or is the medical corps not popular?

Two years ago my DS and I were on a day visit and I talked with a then-yuk (now firstie) who was in the medical doctor track. He said that there were just not that many cadets interested in it, so while the percentage of the cadet corps sounds low, pretty much it was 100% of the people who opted for it got it.

That is oversimplifying what he said but you get the point. If you can pull off the program, you should generally have a pretty good shot at it... based on what he said.

Do you happen to know any way I can contact him/her?

agree and disagree. . .

I was one of those cadets interested in the medical school options. My firstie year I decided not to even bother applying as my grades were not good and didn't do well on my MCAT. From what I remeber, my classmates who got selected had good grades. I also knew sevearl of my friends that didn't get selected.

The 2% mandate by the law, not interest.

I agree. I was always under the impression that it was the hardest branch to get and since it always closest out first on the OML.
